Authors' Guidelines

OVERVIEW

Pulastya Publisher is an Open Access Peer-Reviewed Publisher of Scientific Research. We prioritize papers that are of general significance, clearly written and well-organized. We publish a wide array of books, book chapters, articles, including general and popular articles, success stories, scientific correspondence, news, meeting reports, research news and opinion articles. Our goal is to promote advancements in all fields of Science and Technology such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries Sciences, Animal & Veterinary Sciences, Food & Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences, Forestry, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Agricultural Engineering and more.

SUBMISSION PROCESS

Manuscripts for all categories should be well-prepared as per the guidelines of the Publisher and must be submitted via email to the Managing Editor via email to the respective journal and books.

CATEGORIES OF MANUSCRIPTS

  1. General Articles
  • Length: Up to 3500 words.
  • References: Maximum of 15-20 in numbers.
  • Content: Should survey and discuss current developments in a specific field based on published work. Must include a concise introduction and be well-focused and organized, avoiding a general 'textbook' style.
  1. Popular Articles
  • Length: Maximum up to 2000 words (may exceed up to 2500 words, if necessary, with due permission of the Editorial Board).
  • Display Items: Maximum 2-5 (tables or figures).
  • Content: Should discuss the current research trends in a field of interest to non-specialists. Include an abstract, an introductory paragraph, subheads, relevant illustrations, conclusion and references.
  • References: Maximum of 5-7 in numbers.
  1. Success Stories
  • Length: Up to 1000 words (may exceed up to 1500 words, if necessary).
  • Display Items: 4-5 maximum.
  • Content: Should reflect the stories of individuals or communities that inspire others to achieve their goals.
  1. Scientific Correspondence
  • Length: Less than 1200 words.
  • Display Items: 2 Nos.
  • Content: Intended to rapidly communicate important new findings.
  1. Scientific News
  • Length: Up to 1000 words.
  • Content: Should cover significant scientific events or news of general interest to the scientific community.
  1. Research News Articles
  • Length: Up to 2000 words.
  • Display Items: 2-3 Nos.
  • Content: Should inform non-specialists about recent advances or important findings in research.
  1. Meeting Reports
  • Length: Less than 1200 words.
  • Content: Should highlight the technical contents and significance of conferences, seminars, symposiums, or discussion meetings.
  1. Opinion Articles
  • Length: Less than 1000 words.
  • Content: Should present views on issues related to science and scientific activities.

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

  1. Manuscript Formatting
  • Font and Spacing: Manuscripts should be typed using 12-point ‘Times New Roman’ font, 1.5-spaced.
  • Order: Manuscripts should be organized as follows: Title Page, Abstract (within 150 words), Keywords (max. 4-6), Text, Conclusion, Acknowledgements (if any), References (max. 7), Tables and Figures (tables and figures should be properly labeled).
  • Superscripts: Use proper superscripts for notations (e.g., kg/ha should be written as kg ha-1; yield/plant should be written as yield plant-1).
  • Percentages: Use "%" instead of "percent" or "percentage" in the text and tables.
  • Italicization: Use italics for ‘scientific names’, 'et al.', 'etc.', 'e.g.' and 'viz.'
  1. Title Page
  • Content: The title page should include the Title, Authors’ Affiliations and the Corresponding Author’s email ID and Address.
  • Title: The title should be brief, specific and suitable for indexing.
  • Affiliation: Authors’ affiliations should include the Department, complete institutional address with PIN Code, State and Country.
  1. Abstract
  • Length: Limited to 150 words.
  • Content: The abstract should convey the main points, indicate the main findings, explain the significance, reflect the major findings and include a line of conclusion. Avoid theoretical/textual material.
  1. Keywords
  • Number: Not less than 4 and more than 6 keywords.
  • Order: Must be listed alphabetically.
  • Selection: Choose carefully; they should not be phrases and should help in indexing the article.
  1. Introduction
  • Content: Include the specific aim of the work, a review of literature to identify knowledge gaps and justification for the work. Avoid elementary details and repetition of well-known facts.
  1. Text
  • Introduction: Provide a brief introduction.
  • Clarity: Ensure the text is intelligible to readers from different disciplines. Define technical terms.
  • Tables and Figures: Refer to them in numerical order and label properly. All the tables and figures should be cited in the text.
  • Symbols and Abbreviations: Define all symbols and abbreviations and use them only when necessary. Clearly indicate superscripts, subscripts and ambiguous characters.
  • Units of Measure: Use metric or SI units.
  1. Conclusion
  • Length: At least 100 words.
  • Content: Should be precise and focused on the objective of the paper.
  1. Acknowledgments (if any)
  • Content: Acknowledge financial grants, technical assistance, identification of specimens and essential literature.
  1. References
  • Number: Limit to 5-7 references for Popular article and 15-20 references for General articles.
  • Format: Follow the specified format of the Publisher, as mentioned below (Angiras Format).
  1. Conflict of Interests
  • Statement: The article must be accompanied by a "Conflict of Interest" statement from the authors.

By adhering to these guidelines, authors can help ensure the smooth processing and high quality of their submissions to Pulastya Publisher.

Most importantly all authors must sign an authorship form describing their role in the article, as per the format of the Publisher and taking responsibility of all disputes if arises from their contents in the article.

REFERENCES

The Publisher encourages the citation of recent papers, suggesting that older references be updated with newer ones. Authors must ensure the accuracy of their references. References should be kept to a minimum and listed alphabetically. Personal communications and unpublished data should not be included in the reference list. References at the end of the text should follow the specified format. Authors are responsible for the correctness of their references.

In the text, references should be cited as follows: two authors (Mohali and Bhowmik, 2019), three or more authors (Mullar et al., 2017). Listing of references in the text should be chronological separated by semicolon, (e.g., Smith, 1987; John, 1999; Moriss et al., 2000).

Tables and Figures

Table should be descriptive with or without references with heading in bold letters. Tables, figures, drawings should be placed outside (As a separate attachment) of the text as they shall be correctly arranged by the publisher. Figures whether line drawing or graph should be of good quality. Legends to figures should be given on a separate sheet. Tables and figures should be numbered consequently in Arabic numerals (Table 1, Table 2 and Figure 1, Figure 2).

For each table, please provide a table title explaining the content of the table. Source of Tables from a previously published material should be mentioned at the footnote.

Footnotes to tables should be indicated by superscript lower-case letters (or asterisks for significance values and other statistical data) and included beneath the table body

Photographs

The photographs should be of good quality (not less than 300 dpi resolution, so if they should occupy text column width (8 cm) they must have at least 1000 pixels width.) and in the JPG/ JPEG/ PNG/ TIFF format. Please send original (not resized) photograph(s), straight from a digital camera, without any text descriptions on the photo.

Acknowledgements

All benefits in any form from a commercial party related directly or indirectly to the subject of the submitted manuscript or any of the authors must be acknowledged. For each source of funds, both the name of the funding agency and the grant number should be given. This should be included in the acknowledgement. If no conflict exists, authors should state: The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest within themselves and others including the funding agency and the agency where the research was carried out.

PUBLICATION POLICY/ NORMS

All papers, solicited and unsolicited, will be first assessed by a Reviewing Editor. Papers found unsuitable in terms of the overall requirements of the Publisher will be returned to the authors. The others will be sent for detailed review. Authors of these papers will be notified of acceptance, need for revision or rejection of the paper. It may be noted that papers once rejected cannot be resubmitted. Illustrations and other materials to be reproduced from other publications must be properly credited; it is the authors’ responsibility to obtain permission for reproduction of figures, tables, etc. from published sources.

COPYRIGHT TRANSFER

Submission of a manuscript implies that when the manuscript is accepted for publication, the authors agree to automatic transfer of the copyright to the publisher (or grant the Publisher exclusive publication and dissemination rights). The Pulastya Publisher, as the publisher, has the right to enter into any agreement with any organization in India or abroad engaged in reprography, photocopying, storage and dissemination of information contained in this. The Pulastya Publisher has no objection in using the material, provided the information is being utilized for academic purpose but not for commercial use. Due credit line should be given to Pulastya Publisher where information will be utilized.

PROOFS AND REPRINTS

Galley proofs (PDF) will be sent by email to the corresponding author. The corrected proofs should be returned to the Editor within 7 days of receipt. The delay in sending the proofs may shift the paper to the next issue. Page proofs are considered to be the final version of the manuscript. With the exception of typographical or minor clerical errors, no changes will be made in the manuscript at the proof stage. In order to minimize the corrections and alterations in the proof stage, authors are requested to prepare the manuscript carefully according to Publisher format before submitting it for publication. PDF of the published papers will be provided to the author via e-mail. Authors can freely download the PDF file from which they can print unlimited copies of their articles. It is mandatory for the author to mention his/her e-mail ID.

Any correspondence regarding publication of papers/chapters should be sent to the Editor-in-Chief, Pulastya Publisher along with Manuscript ID through email: editorpulastya@gmail.com.
